Themistius’ book "Paraphrase On the Soul", translated by Monika Komsta, appears for the first time in Poland, together with the Greek version. It is an excellent dissemination of knowledge of the philosophy of late antiquity, in particular on the works of Aristotle in the field of classical understanding of rational psychology. Themistius’ Paraphrase brings understanding of the soul as a universal and internal rules of life itself, occurring in the world of plants, animals and humans. The book complements the lack of source broadening the base source of philosophical thought about the popular and influential treatise of psychology and philosophical anthropology as a reference for other types of anthropology, acting to help in the humanities, social sciences and philosophy, but also for biologists and naturalists studying the issue of life.
