Na książkę składają się artykuły dotyczące sztuki i jej rozumienia, co prowadzi do podstawowego filozoficznego typu wyjaśniania świata natury i kultury. Okazuje się bowiem, że rezygnacja z filozofii w wyjaśnianiu problemu sztuki powoduje błędny jej obraz, zaś oparcie jej rozumienia na idealizmie i jego pseudofilozofiach prowadzi do ideologii fundującej m.in. tzw. antysztukę i antyartystę. Autor ostrzega, że nie każdy fakt kulturowy, jaki rejestruje historia sztuki, jest faktem kulturotwórczym, bywa bowiem owocem błędu poznawczego twórcy i miast usuwać braki w świecie pomnaża je, deprawując odbiorcę i deterioryzując kulturę. W książce m.in. omówiono problem kultury i kulturoznawstwa, współczesne spory o sztukę, problem twórczości, relację sztuka i religia, oraz zamieszczono pomoce dydaktyczne: wybrane teksty oraz bibliografię prac z filozofii sztuki.

in the series "The Vademecum of Philosophy"

The book includes articles on art and its understanding, which leads to a basic philosophical type of explaining the world of nature and culture. It turns out that the abandonment of philosophy in explaining the problem of art causes the incorrect image and supports its understanding as idealism. Pseudo philosophies lead to the ideology which engenders, among others, the so-called anti-art and anti-artist. The author warns that not every cultural fact, which records the history of art, is culture-creative fact, because sometimes it is the result of a cognitive error of the creator. It multiplies lacks in the world, instead of removing them, thereby corrupting the recipient and deteriorating culture. The book, among others, discusses the problem of culture and cultural studies, contemporary disputes about art, the problem of creativity, relation between art and religion, and it provides teaching materials: selected texts and a bibliography of works on the philosophy of art.
