Tomasz z Akwinu, a współcześnie rozwinął podążający za myślą É. Gilsona i J. Maritaina główny twórca Lubelskiej Szkoły Filozoficznej, M. A. Krąpiec. Celem analiz jest namysł nad tym, czy i w jaki sposób fakt zaistnienia bytów przygodnych, poznawanych w świetle ostatecznych racji jako skutki stwórczego działania Boga, niesie w sobie informację dotyczącą Boskiej mocy i przysługujących jej własności. Autorka ukazuje znaczący wkład św. Tomasza z Akwinu w określenie filozoficznego rozumienia mocy Boga, a przede wszystkim komplementarność Tomaszowej metafizyki odnoszącej się do istnienia i natury Boga, bytu przygodnego oraz stworzenia świata ex nihilo. Autorka ukazuje creatio ex nihilo jako najpełniejszy przejaw Bożej wszechmocy. The Creative Power of God. The Standpoint of St. Thomas Aquinas

The book concerns the problem of the infinite power of God, discussed in the perspective of realistic metaphysics. The considerations are conducted on the grounds of the existential theory of being, the framework of which was formulated by St. Thomas Aquinas and developed by the main founder of the Lublin School of Philosophy, M. A. Krąpiec, following the thought of É. Gilson and J. Maritain. The aim of the analyses is to reflect on whether and how the fact of the existence of contingent beings, cognized in the context of ultimate reasons as the effects of God’s creative action, carries information concerning the Divine power and its properties. The Author shows the significant contribution that St. Thomas Aquinas made to the philosophical understanding of God’s power and, above all, the complementarity of Thomas's metaphysics referring to the existence and nature of God, contingent being and the creation of the world ex nihilo. The Author shows creatio ex nihilo as the fullest manifestation of God’s omnipotence. The problematics in the book complement the basic lecture in metaphysics by the issues concerning the creative act and the power of God.
