Book The Problem of the Absolute in the philosophy of Aristotle is the unique monograph in Polish literature devoted to one of the most important issues in the philosophy of Aristotle, namely the concept of the Absolute. The concept of the Absolute is presented in the context of pre-Aristotelian concepts of Absolute - in the Ionian philosophy of nature and in the Parmenides’ and Platonic currents, in which the absolute appears as the material, formal, efficient and exemplar cause. Then was presented epistemological and methodological level of considerations and conditions of valuable cognition, the next point is the concept of physics and metaphysics of Aristotle, with the accompanying theory of space and movements, and the understanding of being as substance. The last chapter concerns the concept of the Absolute, especially its nature as a final cause. The book is a guide to the most important points of Aristotle’s philosophy, popularizing the achievements of the greatest thinker of antiquity. The Problem of the Absolute in the philosophy of Aristotle includes four chapters, bibliography, appendix with XII book of Metaphysics of Aristotle in Greek and Polish, serving as teaching aids.
