The book concerns the social life of man as a necessary context of his actualization. It draws attention to the role of philosophy in recognizing the essence of community life, his methods of civilization and the ultimate goal. Considerations are made from the perspective of philosophical realism, which allows to point out the absurdities of idealism, in particular the consequences of civilization: utopianism and collective type of civilization (socialism). The author recalls still censored cognitive achievement of realism in anthropology and the theory of civilizations, including particular emphasis on the personalism with its adequate and integral concept of man as a person. Key references of considerations are: the dispute between realism and idealism, the transformation of modernism in postmodernism, utopia and utopianism, socialism and its variants, collective type of civilization and personalism. This perspective makes the book an excellent guide to the issues related to the social life of man.
