Współczesny przyrodnik chce - na wzór platońskiego Demiurga - stwarzać rzeczy. W procesach klonowania, krzyżówek genetycznych, tworzenia nowych zmutowanych form roślin nie chodzi tylko o przeformowywanie i przetwarzanie rzeczy, ale stawianie się w roli kogoś, kto dzięki nauce uzurpuje sobie moc stwarzania. Rodzi się zatem konieczność odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy istnieją granice ingerencji w strukturę rzeczy, granice poza którymi ingerencja przestaje być doskonaleniem, a podąża w kierunku szkodzenia i deformowania. Problem ten jest domeną nie tylko nauk przyrodniczych, ale przede wszystkim metafizyki. Metafizyka uczy bowiem odkrywania wewnętrznej struktury rzeczy, w której obok elementów przypadłościowych są także elementy konstytutywne, czyli takie, które determinują naturę rzeczy, te zaś wyznaczają granicę tożsamości i indywidualności rzeczy, która w żaden sposób nie może zostać naruszona bez zniszczenia samej rzeczy. Najważniejszym celem "Zeszytu V" jest wprowadzenie czytelnika w umiejętność odkrywania wewnętrznej struktury świata osób i rzeczy a przez to docieranie do takich złożeń, których nie może odkryć żadna inna nauka poza metafizyką.

Contemporary naturalist wants to - on the model of Plato’s Demiurge - create things. In the process of cloning, genetic crossbreeds, creating new mutant forms of the plant. This is not just about reforming and transforming of things, but putting oneself in the role of someone who through science usurped the power to create. Thus is born the need to answer the question of whether there are limits to interference in the structure of things, the limits beyond which intervention ceases to be improving and moving towards harm and deformation. This problem is not only the domain of natural science, but most of all metaphysics. Metaphysics teaches the way of discovering the internal structure of things in which are accidental elements and also constitutive elements, that is, those that determine the nature of things, and those that determine the border for identity and individuality of things, which in no way cannot be compromised without destroying the thing in itself. The most important purpose of "The Notebook V" is to introduce the reader to the ability to explore the internal structure of the world of persons and things and thus reach such assemblies, which could not uncover any other science beyond metaphysics.
