Tom zawiera materiały z XIX Międzynarodowego Sympozjum Metafizycznego (1 XII 2016 r.), które – w nawiązaniu do ubiegłorocznej 2400. rocznicy urodzin Stagiryty – dotyczyło oryginalności i ważności metafizyki Arystotelesa dla współczesnej kultury naukowej. Publikacja pt. O metafizyce Arystotelesa. U podstaw filozofowania realistycznego składa się z czterech części. W pierwszej, noszącej tytuł: „Metafizyka jako filozofia pierwsza”, znalazły miejsce rozważania o specyfice Arystotelesowskiej metafizyki, o jej przedmiocie, o znaczeniu w kulturze naukowej świata. Druga część, pt. „Teorie i problemy metafizyczne”, dotyczy najważniejszych punktów w myśli Stagiryty, jak: przyczynowanie celowe, akt i możność, dynamizm. Część trzecia książki, pt. „Człowiek i ludzkie działanie w refleksji metafizycznej” dotyczy nauki o cnotach, natury rozumnej jako źródła działania, czynów złych z istoty oraz roztropności jako podstawy mądrości praktycznej. Czwarta zaś zawiera wybrane interpretacje Arystotelesowskiej metafizyki: Aleksandra z Afrodyzji i Temistiusza, Tomasza z Akwinu oraz informacje o współczesnym rozkwicie badań nad filozofią i aretologią Stagiryty.

The volume contains material from the XIX International Metaphysical Symposium (December 1, 2016), which - in reference to last year's 2400th anniversary of the birth of Philosopher from Stagira - concerned the originality and validity of Aristotle's metaphysics for contemporary scientific culture. The book  entitled On Aristotle's Metaphysics. At the basis of realistic philosophy consists of four parts. In the first, entitled "Metaphysics as the First Philosophy," there are reflections on the specificity of Aristotle's metaphysics, about its subject, of its importance in the scientific culture of the world. Second part, entitled "Theories and metaphysical problems,” concerns the most important points in the Philosopher’s thought: final causality, act and potency, dynamism. Part three of the book, "Man and human action in metaphysical reflection" refers to the study of virtues, rational nature as the source of action, the evil deeds and the prudence as the basis of practical wisdom. The fourth part includes selected interpretations and commentaries of Aristotle’s metaphysics: Alexander of Aphrodisias and Temistius, Thomas Aquinas, and information on the contemporary  development of research on Aristotle’s philosophy and aretology.
