Książka obejmuje materiały z XXII Sympozjum Metafizycznego (5 XII 2019 r.) z cyklu „Zadania współczesnej metafizyki”, które zostało poświęcone współczesnym przemianom w rozumieniu człowieka i podstawowym obszarom kontrowersji antropologicznych. Dotyczą one osobowego bytowania człowieka, rozumienia umysłu ludzkiego, badań nad mózgiem i projektu sztucznej inteligencji, wolności, specyfiki cielesności i organizmu ludzkiego, sensu życia ludzkiego w kontekście mitów transhumanizmu, terryzmu, nihilizmu. Struktura książki zawiera pięć części zgrupowanych wokół powyższych wielkich zagadnień współczesnych debat antropologicznych. W tomie zamieszczono również wybrane tematycznie artykuły nestora Filozoficznej Szkoły Lubelskiej, o. M. A. Krąpca, dla przypomnienia jego myśli antropologicznej z okazji bliskiej już rocznicy 100-lecia urodzin. Książka zawiera także indeks osobowy i obszerną bibliografię tematyczną.

The book includes materials from the XXII Metaphysical Symposium (5 December 2019) from the series "Tasks of the Contemporary Metaphysics", which was devoted to contemporary changes in the understanding of human being and basic areas of anthropological controversy. They concern the personal status of existence of human, the understanding of the mind, brain research and the project of artificial intelligence, freedom, the specificity of the human body and organism, the sense of human life in the context of the myths of transhumanism, therism and nihilism. The structure of the book contains five parts grouped around these great issues of contemporary anthropological debates. The volume also includes thematically selected articles by the nestor of the Philosophical School of Lublin, Fr. M. A. Krąpiec, to remind his anthropological thought on the close occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. The book also contains an index of persons and an extensive thematic bibliography.
