Książka pt. Człowiek i polityka o. Mieczysława A. Krąpca dotyczy filozoficznego rozumienia polityki. Namysł jest prowadzony w nurcie europejskiej tradycji, która „umieszczała politykę na polu działań moralnych człowieka”. Autor wskazuje, że polityka „jako ludzkie działanie społeczne – a więc działanie w stosunku do drugiego człowieka (czy to indywidualnego, czy zrzeszonego w organizacjach) – jest działaniem ze swej natury moralnym”. Politykę definiuje jako „roztropne realizowanie dobra wspólnego”, podkreślając, że dobro to jest racją bytu państwa i społeczności, oraz, że wymaga szczególnej roztropności w rozumnym dobieraniu środków. Wśród zagadnień poruszonych w książce znajdują się także: natura i przymioty społeczności i państwa, dobro wspólne, prawa człowieka i ich zagrożenia, praca, własność, podstawy tożsamości narodu polskiego.

Man and Politics
in the series "Library of Realistic Philosophy"

The book entitled Man and Politics written by father Mieczysław A. Krąpiec refers to the philosophical understanding of politics. Consideration is carried out in the current of European tradition, that "placed politics in the field of moral human activity." The author points out that politics "as a human social activity - and therefore action in relation to another person (whether an individual or affiliated organizations) - is an activity inherently moral." Politics is defined as a "prudent realization of the common good", stressing that the good is the reason of being of the state and society, and so it requires particular prudence in choosing rational means. Among the issues raised in the book there are also: the nature and attributes of the community and the state, the common good, human rights and threats to them, work, property, basics of identity of the Polish nation.
